We are Boca Plata, an Enterprise born in the sixties in Jalisco, and now managed by the third generation of the Botello family, one that made a way of life out of hand-made jewelry.
Our experience made us remain in this line of business, as well as turned us into a key player for the jewelry industry in Jalisco: we are a constant presence in several hot spots of the mexican and international markets.
We, at Boca Plata, craft silver under the highest quality standards. Behind every one of our products lies a process that, although capable of big production volumes, it is focused on quality in every possible way.

OUR FOUNDER: Mr. Luis Botello Muro
Don Luis Botello Muro, son of Eduarda Muro González and Luis Botello Estrada, was born in Mezquital del Oro, Zacatecas, on April 29, 1926. When he was a little boy, he discovered his love for gold crafting: he joined his father to “La Hacienda del Beneficio” mine, where the inhabitants of Mezquital searched for gold veins.
At the age of ten, Don Luis started studies to become a priest, however, that would not be his vocation: in 1941, he left the Guadalajara Seminary to seek work as a goldsmith’s apprentice in the workshop of renowned artist Manuel Peregrina. There, he learned to work gold in the artisan way, just like it was done in his native land; he mastered the Zacatecas-style jewelry, 18 carat, which he created piece by piece in a meticulous and precise process that he promptly transmitted to many of his children.
His creations were highly appreciated: they were sold in several important cities in Mexico and even abroad.
In addition, Don Luis was a born leader, a man of strong convictions: he was part of the founding generation of the “Unión de Plateros y Joyeros del Estado de Jalisco” (Silversmiths and Jewelers Union of Jalisco), with which, the first effort to organize them was made. In fact, he served as General Secretary for this association in 1975.
A happy, cheerful and kind man, lover of simple things and fresh fruit, Don Luis Botello Muro left this world on March 19, 2021. He was about to turn 95 years old.
The heirs of his tradition of work and effort celebrate his life, as we hope he enjoys the eternal light next to God.
